Beamish Museum is a great day out for our family! It gives the little one plenty of fresh air which makes for a better night sleep (usually). It is around £20 for an adult ticket but there are family tickets available if your child(ren) no longer qualifies for free entry. Once you have bought a ticket you can visit for a year on that ticket. After your initial visit it can be a free family day out if you take a packed lunch and have the willpower (which I usually don't) not to buy anything in the tearooms, sweetshop, bakery or fish and chip shop.
There are a couple of exhibits that you cannot get around with the pram such as the bank or the pit village cottages but there is still plenty to see and do. We love a day out at Beamish and have made good use of our tickets since we bought them earlier this year.
